What is acupuncture good for?

If you have ever wondered what acupuncture can actually do for your body, you are not alone. Acupuncture is one of the core modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is a comprehensive system of healthcare that has been practiced for thousands of years. At The Way Holistic Collective, acupuncture is approached as part of a bigger picture for your health and well being.

So what does acupuncture actually do? It can be used to support a wide range of concerns, including:

-Pain, Tension and Discomfort

-Stress and Nervous System Support

-Sleep and Insomnia

-Digestive Health

-Hormonal and Reproductive Health

One of the biggest things that makes acupuncture different from a “one size fits all” approach is that your treatment is based on you and your own individual needs.

Our practittioners look at the underlying patterns contributing to your concerns. Your practitioner may also include other TCM modalities into your protocol such as cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, herbal medicine and dietary recommendations.

But what about the needles? If the thought of needles makes you apprehensive, here is some information to ease your mind!

Acupuncture needles are very thin and much finer than needles used for injections or blood draws. They are as small as one strand of human hair! Most people feel little to no discomfort when they are inserted, more of a tiny pinch, warmth, tingling or heaviness. Your practitoner will gently place needles at specific acupuncture points based on your individual treatment. Once they are in place its time to relax and let them do their work!

Book a TCM consultation/treatment with one of our practitioners and discover all of the benefits of this ancient system of healthcare and health practices.
