Modality of care: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture

 
 

Christina Lam R.Ac., has successfully completed the Pan-Canadian licensing exam Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. She is a registered acupuncturist and member with the CAA (College of Acupuncturists of Alberta).

She began her post-secondary journey in 2009 at Mount Royal University - first studying Communications and then Social Work. Hoping to help others through connection, she found herself returning to the medicine of her childhood & roots. She then moved to BC, where she began her TCM training. With over 550 hours of supervised clinical acupuncture experience, she completed her studies at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC – receiving her Diploma of Acupuncture.

Christina approaches each treatment with gentle care, active listening and an open mind & heart. She employs traditional needling techniques, auriculotherapy, cupping, gua sha, food as medicine (Shi Liao) and self-care recommendations.

She has an interest in: digestive health, emotional/ mental well-being, addiction, pain management, anxiety, insomnia & women’s health. She continues to further her knowledge with self-study, seminars, conferences and workshops.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Initial Consultation: $165
The initial consultation will include a comprehensive Traditional Chinese Medicine intake & a discussion for our treatment plan.  Once I’ve heard your concerns, I will focus on the energetic imbalances or blockages connected to the root cause of dis-ease.  You will be supported with an acupuncture treatment (but not limited to).  Chinese Medicine comprises a range of traditional therapies including: gua sha, electroacupuncture, auriculotherapy, fire cupping, shi liao (diet therapy) & Tui Na.

Standard Follow-up Acupuncture visit: $110
A follow-up session to the initial consultation and for those who are experiencing acute pain or discomfort. This includes an acupuncture treatment and any other Chinese Medicine modality which could aid in your healing process (e.g., gua-sha, electroacupuncture, auriculotherapy, tui na & warm-needle technique).

Follow-up Acupuncture (front + backvisit: $130
Acupuncture is cumulative; each treatment building on top of the last one. This is for returning clients who have seen Christina for an Initial TCM consult OR for those who are experiencing acute pain or discomfort. You will be supported with a comprehensive front + back acupuncture treatment and any other Chinese Medicine modality which I believe will aid in your healing process (e.g., fire cupping, gua-sha, electroacupuncture, auriculotherapy, tui na & warm-needle technique).

Fire Cupping: $60
Utilizing fire & glass cups, a vacuum is created in the glass cup – we will use the negative pressure to encourage circulation for tired, overworked and tight muscles.  Cups will either be stationary or moving-fire-cupping will be applied to the affected channels.  

AuriculotherapyNADA (addictions, pain & deep relaxation): $45
NADA protocol – a total of 10 acupuncture points (5 tiny needles inserted on each ear).  This standardized auricular acupuncture has many applications but particularly for: addiction support (e.g., substances (alcohol, smoking, recreational drugs, food and habits)), pain management for those undergoing cancer treatment, for mental calmness from stress and anxiety.

AcuSculpting Consultation (Superior: Face + Scalp, Anterior: Abdomen, Breast(s) & legs & Posterior: hips, thighs & buttocks): $165
AcuSculpting is a specialized cosmetic acupuncture protocol designed to shape, lift, tighten and firm the skin on the face & body.  In our first session, we will discuss one area of focus (e.g., minimizing the appearance of fine lines on the face, stimulating hair growth on the scalp, fibrocystic breast(s), scars/ hyperpigmentation etc.).  Once the acupuncture needles are inserted an LED light is placed over the area of focus. The LED light promotes cellular proliferation, collagen synthesis and helps with the reduction of inflammation. We will finish with a hot towel treatment and either silicone cupping and/ or Gua Sha. 
Be advised that bruising or hyperpigmentation has a chance of occurring during the week post-treatmentFor chronic areas, a minimum of 10 treatments is advised. Packages are available.

AcuSculpting Follow-Up $135
A follow-up to the initial consultation. Acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, LED light and heat will all be used. AcuSculpting is a specialized cosmetic acupuncture protocol designed to shape, lift, tighten and firm the skin on the face & body.
Be advised that bruising or hyperpigmentation has a chance of occurring during the week post-treatment. For chronic areas, a minimum of 10 treatments is advised. Packages are available.
