What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a body based meditative practice that uses continual, intentional breath patterns.

Breathwork can help bring your nervous system into regulation. It is a way to heal, release, and transform as it helps break down stagnant emotions that are stored in the body, allowing you to move through feelings of anxiety, stress and overwhelm.

Each session is unique to the person, and Leslie will discuss with you what your intention is for the session. A session is tailored to create focus and direction by using an intention + mantra and can include either (or both) integrative and meditative techniques. You may choose to include journaling or drawing as part of the session to allow embodiment and integration of the work.

Emotional and physical responses/sensations may occur during a breathwork session.

Due to the nature of Breathwork, such as possible physical & emotional responses, increased oxygen in the body, trauma-release and other energetic releases, there are some health/medical contraindications to certain types of Breathwork. Before a session, it’s important to go through the medical/liability form and connect with the facilitator to see what type of session will best support you.

Breathwork can lead to a deeper somatic connection with your body, and a sense of calm and relaxation.
